Amaven Joins the Blackburn w/Darwen School Sports Partnership

We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Blackburn Rovers and Blackburn w/Darwen Borough Council!

The Blackburn w/Darwen School Sports Partnership is a ground breaking project that brings together educators, policymakers, sports stars and local organisations. It aims to improve the health and fitness of primary pupils in the Blackburn area.

Amaven’s fitness and motor skills development programme is included as part of the Shearer Package – a ‘gold standard’ curriculum system for schools committed to delivering a world class physical education. It's the highest level of the BwD School Sports Partnership, followed by the Tugay and Mulgrew packages.

The BwD School Sports Partnership is a multidisciplinary approach to whole school fitness and sports engagement. The goal is to increase sports participation, enhance physical learning and provide opportunities for competition and athletic attainment.

Amaven cofounder, PK Vaish, says of the partnership:

“We’re thrilled to be working with the BwD School Sports Partnership. This project is going to enhance the lives of young people in Blackburn and prove that sport and physical activity really are for everyone.”

The big difference between our Healthy Schools Programme and the BwD School Sports Partnership is collaboration. With a host of local providers offering services and support, the perks on offer are bigger and bolder than ever.

Schools can enjoy stadium tours, signed merchandise, even visits from Blackburn Rovers players! Shearer schools get full access to Amaven online resources: an interactive portal, teacher CPD, Movement of the Day, home activities and lots more.

Amaven is also a delivery partner for Impact Reports in conjunction with Primary PE & Sport Premium. We produce detailed accounts of performance, attainment and skills acquisition based on pupil data from BwD schools. All reports are compliant with premium requirements and can be used to evidence PE spending.
